Maria Salazar, who represents a southern district in Florida and posts almost exclusively in Spanish on her X account, insists that her Dignity Act is not amnesty. She claims it will secure the border, restore order, and “give a second chance to those who have earned it without a path to citizenship.”
The Act would create a “Dignity” Program, making aliens who entered the U.S. illegally before Dec. 31, 2020, eligible for legal status and work permits. They would be required to pay a $7,000 fee, but would also be protected from deportation for seven years.
Democrats and Soros-backed organizations support the Act, and Salazar has admitted that the Act is just the beginning of efforts to allow more illegal aliens to gain citizenship without consequences.
The Act is meant as a sort of Grand Bargain between Republicans and Democrats, and will allow millions of illegal aliens to remain in the U.S.
Texans for Strong Borders does not support any attempt at amnesty, no matter what they choose to call it.
We view the Dignity Act as a program designed to reward people who broke the law by crossing the U.S. border. The United States should not reward people whose first act on our soil was to violate our laws.
